Ten Choices for Glasses Based on Face Shape

There are a few factors to consider when selecting the most favorable glasses for your face.  Size, color, shape, style, and material are some of the things to take into account.  The easiest way to select glasses that complement your face is by knowing your face shape.  The basic face shapes are square, round, oval, and heart.  Here are ten types of glasses that will enhance these face shapes.

The heart-shaped face features high cheekbones, wide forehead, and a narrow or pointed chin.  Here are three choices that will rock the world of the heart-shaped face eyeglass wearer:  Rectangle eyeglasses are a good first choice.  You can achieve a sporty look by choosing a sharp-edged rectangle frame.  Choice number two would be a nice pair of wayfarer frames.  They look great on heart-shaped faces and tend to convey a sense of independence.  Third, if you are trying to achieve a high fashion, chic look, aviators are the way to go.

A round face boasts full cheeks, wide forehead, and rounded chin. The first choice for round faces is square eyewear.  Square frames add contrastto a face with soft facial curves.  You can sharpen your soft features by choosing rectangular frames with bold, angular lines for choice number two.

A wide forehead, boxy jawline, and broad cheeks indicate a square face.  The cat eye-shaped frames are the go-to choice for square faces.  This retro look became popular in the 50s and 60s, but it is still popular today.  For great second and third choices, oval and round glasses look spectacular on a square faces.  Choose oval or round frames that emphasize the brow line; specifically, those that have color and shape to balance out the square jawline.

The natural beauty of an oval face is always enhanced with glasses.  This face shape looks good in almost any type of frame because the face is already well balanced.  The wrap-around frames are whimsical and look fantastic on this face shape.  The most popular choice for oval faces is geometric shapes like squares.  Look for a pair of frames that is wider around the eyes.  Square frames will balance and highlight the best features of an oval face.

So, there you have it—three great choices that will accentuate the heart-shaped and square-shaped faces and two ideas that will wonders for the round and oval face shapes. 3 Ways to Treat Computer Vision Syndrome

If you spend large amounts of time focusing your eyes on a device, you may have experienced computer vision syndrome. This temporary condition can cause discomfort and vision problems for a period of time after staring at a digital screen. Fortunately, there are a few ways that you can reduce these symptoms.

1. Rest your eyes
Whether you are staring at a computer screen for work or for pleasure, you need to take breaks. If possible, get up from your device every 20 minutes to let your eyes relax. If you are unable to do so, look away from your screen to a distant object in the room and stare at it for at least 20 seconds. For every two hours you spend looking at a screen, allow your eyes 15 minutes of rest.

2. Blink
Staring at a digital screen can greatly reduce the number of times that users blink each minute. This can result in dry eyes and other pain. By reminding yourself to blink often, your eyes will be naturally refreshed. You can also use eye drops to help reduce discomfort.

3. Eliminate glare
Glare on your screen can make letters less clear, causing more strain on your eyes. If you notice you have a glare on your device, try to reduce it by closing blinds, positioning yourself away from windows or switching to a lower-watt bulb. You can also buy a glare filter for your screen.

Sometimes staring at a device all day is necessary, but if you notice discomfort or vision problems, follow these tips so you can keep working with fresh eyes. For more ways to treat computer vision syndrome in La Mesa, visit this website.

Why Safety Glasses are a Good Buy for Cyclists

Most cyclists buy sports glasses as part of their cycling gear, but safety glasses can work just as well and look just as stylish. Here are five reasons to consider buying safety glasses for your outdoor rides.

• They meet ANSI standards for safety, which means they resist breaking or cracking if hit at high speeds by objects kicked up from the road or flying in the air, and protect you from insects, dust and wind.
• They have UV and IR protection, which is certified by the safety regulators who oversee safety glasses manufacturing.
• They come with a pretty cheap price tag compared to a specialty sports glasses. Some are only around ten dollars or less, which also makes replacing them easy if you damage or lose them.
• Surprisingly, safety glasses also have the color tint options of the designer glasses: yellow or amber will make the world appear brighter and works well in low light; copper, orange, and brown enhance contrast and depth perception which makes it easier to see road conditions.
• These glasses also are made in a variety of fashionable styles, so they don’t just look like something you wear only for work. They can come with other amenities such as adjustable frames, nose pieces, anti-scratch lenses. Some brands are even fog free.
